Curriculum and Resources (10 semester curriculum display)

The College of Textiles provides the Anni Albers Scholars with state of the art instruction in textile design and technology including technologies such as direct digital printing on fabric, seamless knitting and computer aided design software for both knitted and woven fabrics and for textile product development. The College's Digital Design Lab offers the opportunity for Albers Scholars to work hands-on with these technologies. A teaching classroom with specialized software offers an ideal environment for instruction in a variety of industry software. Studio spaces, CAD/CAM and laboratory facilities are available for design and creation of fabrics and products.

The College of Design offers Albers Scholars a complete studio-based art and design education, beginning with a firm foundation in one of the country's best design fundamentals programs, followed by intensive upper level studios emphasizing design process and creative problem solving. The College provides a hand weaving lab; a printing/dyeing lab; the Harrye B. Lyons Design Library; College and Departmental computer labs; and materials labs.

The curriculum includes one set of courses to fulfill the General Education Requirements, arranged to meet the specified choices in both curricula. For students who begin the Albers program as a Freshman or Sophomore, the degree requires five (5) academic years to complete. For students who transfer in later, the time required to complete the program varies and must be assessed on an individual basis.
